What is a Restaurant Operating System?
VISSTRO is a Restaurant Operating System: point of sale, kitchen display, self-service ordering, and guest ordering, built on one shared order and menu model and structured around how multi-location restaurant organizations are actually organized.
CONNECTED SERVICE MODEL
One system, not a stack of screens.
Counter service, self-service ordering, and guest ordering are not separate tools stitched together after the fact — they create orders from one shared order and menu model. Kitchen display routes that order data, and customer-facing order status reflects it back to guests.
A diagram of the VISSTRO Restaurant Operating System showing five connected surfaces inside one system boundary: POS, QR / Table Ordering, Kitchen Display, Kiosk, Customer Display. Kitchen Display is highlighted as the point where order information from POS and QR / Table Ordering arrives directly, shown with an arrow from each. Kiosk and Customer Display are part of the same connected system but have no depicted direct order flow.
Kitchen Display receives order information directly from POS and QR / Table Ordering. Kiosk and Customer Display are part of the same connected system.
SHARED OPERATING MODEL
One order and menu model behind ordering and kitchen routing.
An order placed at the counter, at a kiosk, or through guest ordering is handled through the same underlying order and menu model — not a separate copy maintained by each surface. That same order data is what Kitchen Display routes, and what customer-facing order status reflects back to guests.
MULTI-LOCATION STRUCTURE
Structured around how restaurant groups are organized.
VISSTRO models multi-location organizations as Organization → Business → Brand → Location. Full detail on how this structure works lives on the Multi-location page.

OPERATIONAL CONTINUITY
What happens when the connection drops.
VISSTRO can durably capture orders and supported Cash/Card tenders while the connection is down, then submit and reconcile them once it returns. Full detail lives on the Operational Continuity page.
